He returned to the Kyoto University and did two consecutive Post-Docs with Prof. Minoru Kanehisa, co-founder of The GenBank at NCBI and founder of the KEGG and Prof. Susumu Goto in bioinformatics and systems biology, respectively. He returned to Iran in 2006 and founded the Laboratory of Systems Biology and Bioinformatics, LBB at the University of Tehran. He is now an Associate Professor of systems biology and bioinformatics. His main research interest focuses on Computational systems biology, Cancer modeling and network biology, Bioinformatics, Systems biology and brain, Drug-target and disease networks and Genome Scale lncRNA analysis.

Ivan Y. Iourov heads the laboratory of molecular brain genetics at Mental Health Research Center, Moscow, Russia. His research is focused on biological basis of neuropsychiatric diseases, molecular genetics and bioinformatics. He is author/co-author of 4 books and 220 articles/book chapters. Prof Iourov is a founder of Molecular Cytogenetics, editor-in-chief of Journal of Neurology and Epidemiology, and editor of Current Genomics and Current Bioinformatics (regional editor). Jeffrey Skolnick is Director of the Center for the Study of Systems Biology, Mary and Maisie Gibson Chair and GRA Eminent Scholar in Computational Systems Biology as well as Professor in Biological Sciences at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Yale University. He has focused on the development of computational algorithms and their application to proteomes for the prediction of protein structure and function, the prediction of small molecule ligand-protein interactions with applications to drug discovery, the prediction of off-target uses of existing drugs, and the exploration of the interplay between protein physics and evolution in determining protein structure and function. Among his awards is the SURA Distinguished Scientist Award, Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowship and he is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and the Biophysical Society. He is the author of over 370 publications, has an h-index of 81, and has served on numerous editorial boards.

S. Toppo is a Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Padua, Italy. He began his studies in molecular biology and bioinformatics and obtained a BSc in Biology and PhD in Biotechnology in 1994 and 2001, respectively. As a group leader he investigated genome-scale, high throughput sequencing projects, genome assembly and protein function prediction. He is also expert in the study of specific protein families, such as glutathione peroxidases.
